Dr. Mahadevan Seetharaman

Dr. Mahadevan is a Duke Integrative Healthcare Leader and founder of AYUSH Living. As an Ayurveda Evangelist, Health and Nutrition Consultant and Yoga Teacher, he is striving to provide up-to-data Ayurveda and Yoga related health and wellness information, directory, research, and reviews in the US.

General information

He serves as the honorary School Director for ĀYU Academy that offers the most organized advanced Āyurvedic curriculum outside India and is on the Board of the American Academy of Yoga and Meditation. As the Co-guest editor, Mahadevan is involved in managing the MDPI Journal Medicina Special Issue on “The Future of Medicine: Frontiers in Integrative Health and Medicine.
Besides holding a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Minnesota, he has done post-doctoral research at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Foundation. During those year, he also pursued a master’s in Science & Technology Entrepreneurship at the Case Western Weatherhead School of Management.
Dr. Mahadevan spent 4 years in India on sabbatical as the CEO and MD of the Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (I-AIM) and Professor & Dean, School of Health Sciences, Transdisciplinary University (TDU). Apart from advising and mentoring various clinical and research faculty, he served as a member of the University Board of Management, Scientific Advisory Board, Academic Council, Graduate Committee, and Institutional Ethics Committee. He has also recently helped Isha Foundation set up an Integrative Healthcare Centre in India as the COO of Isha Arogya Research Foundation.

Key Facts

Since 2005, Dr. Mahadevan has been part of a Technology startup where he currently serves as an Executive Vice President, Chief Growth Officer and Board Member. Being an active investor and advisor to Ah Ventures, an Angel investor club, he has served as a mentor for several startups in Ayurveda, Yoga, Healthcare & Wellness space. In addition to entrepreneurship, Mahadevan is interested in sustainable grassroots development activities and served as the President of the Minnesota chapter of the Association for India’s Development (AID), a non-profit.
