Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) is Vedic teacher (Vedacharya) and author of over fifty published books on Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta and Vedic studies translated into twenty languages worldwide.

Vamadeva received the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award of the government of India in 2015, for his Vedic educational work. He has a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.), from S-VYASA and from Ram Manohar Lohia Ayodhya University.

He has been one of the main teachers bringing Yoga and Ayurveda to the West, helping to found Ayurvedic programs, schools and associations in North and South America, Europe and Russia.

AYUSH in India has honored his work on both Ayurveda and Yoga on several occasions. He has lectured on Ayurveda in universities and Ayurvedic schools throughout India.

Vamadeva is director of the American Institute of Vedic Studies in the United States (www.vedanet.com), which offers resources and courses in Vedic knowledge systems of Yoga, Vedanta, Ayurveda and Jyotish.
